On Friday May 13^th, 2005 Dr. Alex Keller, a Plastic Surgeon from Great Neck, New York was named as the physician honoree at the American Cancer Society's Eastern Long Island Gala. Dr. Keller is a recognized expert in breast reconstruction with a national and international reputation.  He specializes in a natural tissue reconstruction of the breast utilizing the body's own fat and without the sacrifice of any muscle.

On Saturday September 16^th, 2000 Dr. Alex Keller, a Plastic Surgeon from Great Neck, New York, presented a paper of original work at the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons annual meeting in Montreal, Canada.  The paper entitled “ The Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator Free Flap for Breast Reconstruction” was extremely well received by Dr. Keller’s colleagues and he was praised on the superior aesthetics of this non-implant type of breast reconstruction.

The technique that Dr. Keller utilizes involves transferring to the chest the abdominal flesh that is discarded in a tummy tuck and shaping it into a breast.  What is new and exciting about this method compared to older techniques is that no abdominal muscle is removed.
